Key Advantages of the CEC Program

Why PGWP holders and temporary workers prefer the Canadian Experience Class stream over traditional economic routes.

Proof of Funds Exempted

Unlike Federal Skilled Worker (FSW) applicants, CEC candidates currently authorized to work in Canada do not need to show bank proof of settlement funds to IRCC.

Accelerated IRCC Draws

IRCC regularly conducts CEC-specific and Category-Based draws. In-Canada experience gives you high CRS points, putting you ahead of overseas applicants.

Bridging Open Work Permit

Applied for PR before your PGWP expires? You can apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) to keep working legally while your application processes.

Detailed CEC Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the CEC under Express Entry, you must meet all mandatory requirements outlined by IRCC:

1 Year Skilled Work

Have at least 1 year of full-time (or equal part-time) skilled work experience in Canada within the last 3 years.

Proper NOC TEER Level

Your job must fall under TEER 0, 1, 2, or 3 of the National Occupational Classification (NOC) system.

Legal Work Status

Work experience gained while studying full-time or without valid temporary status does NOT count towards CEC.

Approved Language Test

Achieve CLB 7 for TEER 0/1 jobs or CLB 5 for TEER 2/3 jobs via IELTS General or PTE Core.
